Who I am — and why my background matters
I’m a university lecturer with over fifteen years of experience teaching game design, digital photography, and film production. My job isn’t just to explain how technology works; it’s to teach students how to evaluate tools critically — to separate genuine capability from clever marketing. That exact mindset now underpins every review on this site.
Alongside education, I work as a registered nurse in the UK. That clinical experience has given me a front-row view of how AI is beginning to reshape entire sectors, often in environments where caution and evidence are paramount. It’s taught me to be rigorous about claims and relentless about real-world value.
I also serve on my local church’s media team, producing live streams, flyers, and promotional materials. That’s my proving ground: tight deadlines, varied output, and zero tolerance for tools that don’t perform.
What I do differently
I don’t rewrite press releases. I personally test tools using consistent prompts and real-world projects, then compare results side-by-side. When a tool falls outside my daily workflow, I collaborate with a small network of skilled volunteers who test it in their own specialist contexts. The aim is simple: to tell you clearly which tools are worth your money — and which ones aren’t.
